Our virtue of the month is Courage:
COURAGE: We always do what we know to be right despite fear, hardship, and opposition. We resist negative peer pressure, defend our rights and the rights of others, and encourage others to do the same. OVERCOME STRUGGLE WITH HEART!
Practice: PLEASE HELP YOUR SCHOLARS KEEP THEIR ROUTINE OF READING EVERYNIGHT AND BEING PREPARED FOR LEARNING. Please have your scholars practice writing their name, number, and date to help with labeling their assignments. Please have your scholars practice reciting their poems in front of you to help build confidence in standing in front of their peers and delivering their best. WE ARE SENDING BOOK BAGS HOME EVERY WEEK SO THAT YOUR SCHOLAR MAY CONTINUE TO PRACTICE READING AND BUILD THEIR COMPREHENSION SKILLS. THEY NEED TO BE RETURNED EVERYDAY!

This week they will learn: can, see, run, the, in. Scholars will continue to bring home their book bag. It is important that they read it daily with an adult. Scholars are being graded on homework with a focus on correct completion, penmanship, and overall neatness.
Math: Now that we have reached the end of Quarter 2, we will spend the last week reviewing all learned concepts. We will revisit all the shapes and their attributes. We will take another look at patterns and how we can see them in our daily lives. We will also re-discuss the terms, more than and less than. Then we will end our week with a fun shapes craft!
Science/History: In History, scholars will be introduced to our Continents unit that will include learning the differences between towns, cities, farms, and countrysides, the five oceans that surround these seven continents: Atlantic, Artic, Southern, Pacific and Indian Oceans. In Science, our scholars will be introduced to our Plant Unit and will learn how plants are living things and require many necessities to survive. Scholars will learn about the importance of the plant life cycle.
Literature: It has been a wonderful time reading such legendary folktales. As we prepare for Christmas break, we will indulge in an English bedtime story about a toy and his desire to become real. The Velveteen Rabbit experiences many hard and joyful things in his short life. As we read through this book, we will focus on adjectives and work on fine motor skills as we complete an intricate craft. Our Scholars will also be taken on a field trip to get the live experience at the Velveteen Rabbit.
